DESCRIPTION:There are some places and moments that tie people together forever\, whether it be a place\, a song or something you can’t quite define through words. The origins of Orions Belte stemmed from one of those mystical moments in time\, which spawned a lasting creative connection. Øyvind Blomstrøm (guitar) and Chris Holm (bass) first met while playing in a touring band for another Norwegian artist. During that time\, they bonded over their love for instrumental music and began talking about trying their hand at it themselves. After their work as touring band ended\, they recruited drummer Kim Åge Furuhaug\, one of Holm’s longtime friend and collaborators\, to join their new project. \nThe three met in Bergen\, located along the west coast of Norway\, to start working on ideas and demos. Instead\, within just a few days\, they ended up recording their entire first album\, «Mint». From there\, the universe propelled them forward\, resulting in a record deal\, their live debut as a band at Norway’s biggest pop festival Øyafestivalen and the release of their debut record all happening within the following year. «Mint» drew international interest and praise\, driving the band to continue releasing music at a rapid pace. \nAmidst the unexpected chaos of 2020\, Orions Belte streamed live shows from the Norwegian wilderness attracting views from all over the world with their scenic videos from spectacular spots. The streaming shows resulted in two live albums\, and quickly followed by their second studio album\, «Villa Amorini» in 2021. \nA continuous flow of music has been released including several EP’s\, sessions for renowned journal Aquarium Drunkard and three separate (!) solo albums from all band members under the band moniker. \nIn 2023 the band released their third studio album as a band named «Women»\, once again to international praise supported by two US tours and shows in Europe and Norway the following year. \nNew music is expected before heading to North America once again in the spring of 2025.

The service has since grown and now lives on through Nugs.net\, which is used by the likes of Pearl Jam\, Bruce Springsteen\, and more. \nBeyond intimate backstage encounters and ski trips with their most diehard fans\, Umphrey’s McGee instituted the groundbreaking “Headphones & Snowcones” program\, granting fans access to professional headphones and a soundboard-quality mix to listen wirelessly at shows. At their UMBowl\, they empowered the audience to vote on the setlist in real-time and choose favorite improv themes via text message. In 2017\, they stepped into another realm altogether by integrating themselves into the VR Platform Endless Riff. All of the above has earned the band status as kings of the live music scene with standing yearly engagements at iconic venues\, their own events in Iceland (Rockjavick) and Mexico (Holidaze)\, and co-hosting Chillicothe\, IL’s long-running Summer Camp festival. DESCRIPTION:Over the past four decades\, composer/guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio has forged a singular\, multi-faceted career\, winning acclaim and garnering accolades across genres and disciplines including rock\, classical\, musical theatre\, and more. He is a founding member of Phish\, one of today’s most successful and innovative rock bands. As a solo artist\, Anastasio has released over two dozen studio and live albums and has toured extensively with the Trey Anastasio Band\, Classic TAB\, and other iterations. In 2020\, Anastasio recorded and released the pandemic-era album Lonely Trip\, followed by his first album of solo acoustic material\, Mercy\, in 2022. Those two albums generated much of the material found on Evolve. Anastasio’s latest release is Atriums\, a six-chapter song suite of ambient\, instrumental guitar compositions originally conceived of and recorded for Phish’s Sphere run. \nIn 2023\, Anastasio – a lifelong philanthropist and advocate – established The Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program\, a non-profit organization dedicated to addiction recovery\, and commemorated the opening of its brand new facility in Ludlow\, Vermont. Founded by Anastasio in 2020\, the Divided Sky Foundation’s inaugural fundraiser was “The Beacon Jams\,” an eight-week livestream residency from New York City’s historic Beacon Theatre. In the fall of 2024\, Anastasio and Phish raised over $4 million for the program with three sold-out benefit concerts in Albany\, NY. \nAnastasio has performed and collaborated with such artists as Bruce Springsteen\, the Grateful Dead\, Dave Matthews\, Herbie Hancock (whose 2005 “Gelo na Montanha” earned Anastasio a Grammy® nomination)\, Carlos Santana\, Toots and the Maytals\, B.B. King\, The Roots\, and – as part of the trio Oysterhead – Les Claypool of Primus and Stewart Copeland of The Police. He co-wrote the music for the Broadway musical Hands on a Hardbody\, which received a Tony nomination for “Best Original Score” in 2013. This summer\, Anastasio inducted Steely Dan into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. \nAn accomplished composer and arranger\, Anastasio has performed his original compositions with numerous symphonies\, including The National Symphony Orchestra\, The Boston Pops at Tanglewood\, the New York Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall\, and many more. This special evening celebrates Taylor’s enduring legacy and contributions to the global music scene\, promising an unforgettable fusion of sounds and cultures. \nEbo Taylor Bio\nBorn in 1936\, Ghanaian guitarist\, composer\, arranger\, bandleader\, and producer Ebo Taylor has been a vital presence in African music for more than half-a-century. During the early ’60s\, he was active in the influential highlife bands the Stargazers and the Broadway Dance Band whose singles were mainstays on national radio. In 1962 he took his Black Star Highlife Band to London and collaborated with other African musicians who were also in Britain at the time\, including Fela Kuti. Back in Ghana\, he worked as an influential producer\, crafting recordings for Pat Thomas (his future collaborator) and C.K. Mann\, among many others. During the ’70s\, his own musical projects combined traditional Ghanaian music with Afro-beat\, jazz\, and funk\, creating a trademark sound as\nevidenced by the albums Ebo Taylor & the Pelikans (1976) and Twer Nyame (1978). In the ’80s\, albums such as Conflict Nkru! and Hitsville Re-Visited (co-billed to Thomas) by his Uhuru-Yenzu band delivered a rawer\, more immediate sound. Over the next two decades\, Taylor was a noted producer\, arranger\, and composer\, working\nwith Thomas\, Mann\,  Gyedu-Blay Ambolley \, Kofi Yankson\, and dozens of others. He returned to performing live in the early 21st century after hip-hop producers began sampling his work.  Soundways Records  released the compilation Ghana Special. In 2010\, Strut Records released Love and Death\, his first internationally distributed album\, followed by a series of catalog reissues and all-new recordings including 2018’s Yen Ara. \nPat Thomas Bio\nPat Thomas is a Ghanaian vocalist and songwriter famed for his work in the highlife bands of Ebo Taylor and his own recordings of Afrobeat and Afro-pop.\nBorn in Agona\, in the Ashanti region\, Thomas had music almost literally in his DNA\, his father was a music theory instructor and his mother a bandleader. In the 1970s\, he moved to Accra to join Ebo Taylor’s legendary highlife band The Blue Monks; their residency at the Tip Toe Night Club is an important part of modern Ghanaian cultural\nhistory. In the later years he moved to the Ivory Coast and produced various records in Afro-beat\, Afro-Latin sounds and reggae melded to funky African disco.

As avid storytellers\, they draw inspiration from personal experiences\, balancing life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity. \n  \nDogs began when Philadelphia University of the Arts guitar gun-slinger Jimmy Law began playing with young Joe Babick (drums)\, a student at the Count Basie Theater program in Red Bank\, NJ.  Lightning struck when they were introduced to Berklee School of Music student and bass player Sam Lucid\, who immediately suggested fellow Berklee student and keyboard player Jeremy Kaplan. The addition of fellow Berklee student Brian Murray (guitar) in 2019 made for the quintessential final piece in the Dogs’ puzzle. \n  \nA string of successful local shows drove the development of a massive northeast fan base\, affectionately known as the Dog Pound. The band’s astronomical growth culminated in an epic\, sold-out performance at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park during the summer of 2021. DESCRIPTION:Cigarettes burn in the moonlight. Necklaces bang against bare chests. And on their triumphant fifth album Poetry\, Dehd transports us to a world steeped in imagery. It’s a world painted in the sunset tones of summer romance and flickering old flames. It’s motorcycle chrome (“Mood Ring”)\, it’s fake Gucci Sunglasses (“Dog Days”)\, and it’s shaking hands before a swaying lover (“Hard to Love”). Across fourteen songs\, the trio–Jason Balla\, Emily Kempf\, and Eric McGrady–throw themselves against the question of what it means to hope\, knowing all too well that things end and hearts can break. “You can’t beat death\, but you can beat death in life\,” wrote Charles Bukowski and upon listening to this album it’s obvious the band has chosen to attempt the latter. \nAfter hitting a stride with their 2020 breakout record Flower of Devotion\, followed by their radiant Fat Possum debut Blue Skies in 2022\, Dehd did something different. They turned a writing session into a road trip. With a van full of recording equipment they headed to Kempf’s off-grid Earthship in New Mexico where they chopped wood to keep warm and worked for as long as the solar panels held a charge. They then traveled north to a borrowed cabin surrounded by the chilly waters of the Puget Sound\, where the hours were marked only by the movement of the tide. On the way back to Chicago for their final writing session at the warehouse they’ve called home for over a decade\, Balla and McGrady became stranded for days in rural Montana after hitting a deer and abandoning their van. This tireless sense of adventure\, both internal and external\, has become a trademark of Dehd over the years. “Eating\, sleeping\, breathing—our only purpose was to write\,” Kempf recalled. And it seems in this place of quiet focus Dehd have achieved their most honest and vulnerable writing yet. \nIn the studio they tapped Ziyad Asrar (of Whitney) to co-produce alongside Balla\, marking their first time collaborating with someone outside of the band for the recording process. With the addition of Asrar the emotional landscape of the record is vividly rendered\, at times confessional and others anthemic\, vocals bared\, up front with the confidence of a band that knows the power of their words. \nNo one writes about love quite like Dehd\, and on Poetry\, they somehow make even heartbreak sound inviting. In the swirl of budding new relationships and lingering breakups\, their lyrics find themselves at once exalting love and then turning to doubt it. Examining their own self-defeating habits. “I let myself get in the way\, turning every thought to jealousy\,” admits Balla on “Light On\,” “But was it worth losing a home?” On “Pure Gold\,” Kempf excavates her feelings for another woman–and while writing the song found Kempf confronting years of internalized heteronormativity\, she writes about a sapphic love that feels almost too perfect for Dehd: “Easy breezy. Ooh yeah we laugh so freely\,” she sings\, embodying the liberated joy of a new crush. \n“Everyone I know is breaking hearts tonight\,” Balla howls on “Dog Days”\, “Everyone I know is bleeding\, but I know we’ll be alright.” This restless optimism is uniquely Dehd and speaks to their career of confronting the messy duality of life and love. On Poetry the band conjures a world as if through the eyes of Leonard Cohen or the camera lens of Wong Kar-wai. There’s a darkness\, but not a bleakness as they explore self-love\, feminism and friendship with rare candor. “Dist B\,” based on a trying emotional experience Kempf had in Copenhagen\, frames a breakdown as a cry for help: “What will it take for you to see me?” she asks. On “Knife\,” she takes aim at the patriarchy— “the closest thing to a political song that I’ll probably ever write”— and shoots to kill: “It’s a matter of time and I’ll be free\,” she sings\, while the old guard counts their days: “You’re outdated. You mean nothing.” \nThe album Poetry represents a journey as vast and nuanced as the American landscape Dehd traveled to write it. It culminates on the scorching closer “Forget\,” a breakup song transformed into mantra. “How could I forget?” Balla laments as distorted guitars burn like the last embers of the day. It’s fitting that the final words of the album come in the form of a question\, because as Dehd would have us see it\, we have a choice: to play it safe or to risk it all and live life like Poetry.

DESCRIPTION:Djo –  the musical project of actor / producer / songwriter Joe Keery known for his work in blockbuster projects as Stranger Things and Fargo – announces his highly anticipated new album The Crux. The follow-up to Djo’s 2022 album DECIDE\, which featured the blockbuster hit “End of Beginning\,” The Crux will be released on April 4th on AWAL. Djo has also announced a major 2025 global tour. The Djo – Back On You Tour will feature Post Animal as support on all North American\, UK and EU tour dates. \nThe Crux was co-produced by Keery and his long-time collaborator Adam Thein. It’s an album of impeccable craftsmanship. Unlike Keery’s previous albums – bedroom recordings centered around synths – The Crux spotlights lush guitars and instrumentation reminiscent of late 60’s and 70’s pop. It’s an album full of loss and yearning\, but also one full of wit and gratitude. The album was written all over the world in a particularly fertile period for Keery – where he was grappling with the transience of his other job\, being untethered and away from his friends and family. But to make the album he settled into the legendary Electric Lady Studios in his adopted home of New York City. The Crux not only showcases his ambitious scope\, but also his skills as a deft multi-instrumentalist and songwriter (all songs were written by Keery or in collaboration with Adam Thein). \nThe first single “Basic Being Basic\,” with Oberheim OB-X8 synths and falsetto refrain\, has its final verses shrewdly skewer the (often online) tropes of modern day posturing. “It’s kind of a shot fired to anyone who’s trying to be of the moment\,” says Keery.
