DONIVAN BERUBE

Donivan Berube has been a modern-day nomad since age 17, when he cut all ties with the church of Jehovah’s Witnesses in which he was raised. Berube’s subsequent travels took him as far as Peru and Iceland. At points during those years of wandering, he recorded music as one half of the folk duo Blessed Feathers with his then-wife Jacquelyne Beaupre. The pair’s recent divorce, and the death of Berube’s estranged father, provided the emotional catalysts for the singer-songwriter’s kaleidoscopic and disorienting new album, Endlessly Won’t Last for Long. The fact that Berube can draw forth such openhearted art from such darkness is a mighty testament to his craft.
